How long does it take to charge Megane E-Tech electric?
Charging time varies depending on the selected configuration.

Standard charge: With standard charge, whether at home or at a public station, Megane E-Tech electric charges up to 50 km of driving range in 1 hour, so you can fully charge your battery overnight (7 to 10 hours depending on the battery). This charging mode is also compatible with all public charging stations including DC fast charging points (mainly on motorways) to recover up to 200 km WLTP in ~30 minutes with a power peak of 85 kW.

Boost Charge
: In addition to home charging, you can enjoy the full power of AC public charging stations up to 22 kW with this version (charges 3x faster than Super Charge). Also compatible with DC rapid chargers to recover up to 200 km WLTP in ~30 minutes with a power peak of 85 kW. 

Super Charge: Ideal for home charging at 7 kW single-phase charging points, for a full charge overnight (9 hours). Also compatible with direct current (DC) fast chargers to recover up to 300 km WLTP in 30 minutes, with a maximum peak of 130 kW. 

Optimum Charge: In addition to home charging, you can enjoy the full power of AC public charging stations up to 22 kW with this version (charges 3x faster than Super Charge). It’s also compatible with fast DC chargers to recover up to 300 km WLTP in 30 minutes, with a maximum peak of 130 kW.
Can I charge my battery even if it's not empty?
The battery in Megane E-Tech electric has no “memory effect”. It features cutting-edge lithium-ion technology, the most advanced on the market, delivering optimised driving range.

This means you can charge as needed, even partially, without risk of diminishing performance.

To optimise your charging time, particularly at a quick charge station, we recommend charging your vehicle only when the battery has less than 20% driving range remaining.

How can I optimise charging during business trips?
Depending on your version of Megane E-Tech electric, quick charging is an option on the road and lets you charge up to 300 km WLTP in 30 minutes.

To take full advantage of quick charging, we recommend charging the battery only when your remaining driving range is less than 20%.

Charging costs vary depending on the operator. Billing methods also vary, either charging by kW, charging time or by charging speed (on quick charge stations).

CABLES AND CHARGING POINTS
What cable can I use to charge Megane E-Tech electric?
The type of cable you should use depends on the Megane E-Tech electric version.

Your Megane E-Tech 3% electric is equipped with a  mode 3 type 2  cable as standard. You can connect this cable to your  home charging unit  or to any  public charging station.

If a charging point is unavailable or for occasional charging, get a  Mode 2 “Flexicharger”* cable to charge your Megane E-Tech electric on a 3.7 kW Green’up reinforced socket. It takes between 20 and 30 hours to fully charge your vehicle using this cable.

All versions are equipped as standard with a DC fast charger (130 kW or DC 85 kW maximum power peak depending on versions), which is compatible with the high-power charging stations located on motorways. No need for an additional cable for this charging mode. The cables are directly attached to the charging station. Just like filling up at the pumps.

How long is the charging cable provided with Megane E-Tech electric?
The charging cable provided with Megane E-Tech 5% electric is 5 metres long.
6.5-metre cables are also available and can be ordered from your dealership.
Where is the charging socket located on Megane E-Tech electric?
On Megane E-Tech electric, the charging flap is located at the front right of the vehicle.
Can I plug Megane E-Tech electric into a home socket?
Use a Mode 2 “Flexicharger”* cable to plug Megane E-Tech electric into a standard 2.3 kW domestic socket. This charging mode is suitable for occasional use only or when a specific charging point is unavailable. It takes between 20 and 30 hours to fully charge your vehicle.  

For a faster, safer solution, have a 7 or 22 kW home charging unit installed!

I own another electric vehicle; how can I manage charging for my two vehicles?
To charge two electric vehicles with ease at home, we recommend the following:
  • Ensure the charging cables are compatible with both of your vehicles.


To purchase additional cables, contact your dealership directly when ordering your Megane E-Tech electric.
  • Verify that your electrical set-up is equipped to handle charging of both of your vehicles.
Is quick charging an option?
Quick charging is available on all Megane E-Tech electric versions.

Super Charge and Optimum Charge versions on the 60 kWh battery are equipped with a quick charger (maximum power peak DC 130 kW) as standard. It is compatible with high-power charging stations located in motorway networks. No need for an additional cable for this charging mode: cables are directly attached to the charging station, just like the hose at the petrol station.

Standard Charge and Boost Charge versions with the 40 kWh battery are equipped with a DC fast charger providing a maximum power peak of 85 kW.
