More than just personal access, the digital key also lets you share access to your vehicle with friends and family in just a few clicks.

When your vehicle is delivered, you'll need to activate your digital key. All you need to do is take your smartphone and follow the steps below. We also recommend that you declare yourself the keyholder as soon as your vehicle is delivered.
1. Open your My Renault app. You'll need to download the app, create an account* and fill in your profile.

2. Activate Bluetooth® on your phone. Your car and smartphone must be within network coverage, with airplane mode deactivated. 

3. Sit in the driver's seat and start up your vehicle.

4. Accept data sharing with Renault on the central screen: the data sharing icon, representing a car with two arrows, should appear at the top of the screen.

5. Make sure your vehicle is synchronised with the My Renault app: the mileage should be visible on the app's home screen. Click here for assistance with this step.

6. Go to the digital key section of the My Renault app to activate and calibrate your key.

By standing less than 20 m from your vehicle, you can use your digital key. Activate Bluetooth® on your smartphone and go to the My Renault app. 

You'll be able to:
  •  activate the horn* or locate your parked vehicle by flashing the exterior lights, 
  •  unlock and/or lock your vehicle.

With your charged smartphone in hand, take a seat in your vehicle and follow the steps below: 
  • position your smartphone in the designated area,
  • start the motor. 

Don’t forget to lock your vehicle manually with the My Renault app when you get out of it. There is no automatic remote locking with the digital key.

1. Make sure the person you want to lend a digital key to has the app, a My Renault account and a phone compatible with the digital key.

2. In the digital key section of the My Renault app, access the share a key menu and enter the email address of the future user's My Renault account and the duration of the loan.  

3. This person will receive an email informing them that a digital key has been assigned to their My Renault account. As the lender of the key, you will receive an email confirming the loan of the key for the defined duration.

When reselling your vehicle, you must take the following actions:
  • erase your in-car data by resetting the multimedia system, following the instructions in your multimedia system user manual,
  • delete the vehicle from your My Renault account and declare it sold, 
  • inform the purchaser that the vehicle is equipped with the digital key option, remind them of the remaining period of validity of the digital key and indicate the procedure to be followed to activate the digital key.

What are the advantages of the digital key?
No more lost keys, now you have a shared digital key.Using your smartphone's My Renault app, you can locate your vehicle in a car park and unlock it. By positioning your smartphone in the designated area, you can also start and stop your motor without the physical key, using your vehicle's start/stop button.
You have access to your vehicle, as the key manager, as well as a trusted person with whom you can share access to your key if necessary.
What do I need to use the digital key?
To use the Renault digital key, you need: 
- a vehicle equipped with the digital key option (paid option to be requested when ordering),
- a charged smartphone compatible with the digital key,

Then simply connect your vehicle to your app and follow the on-screen instructions to activate and calibrate your key.
How do I declare myself as the digital key manager?
When you activate your digital key in the My Renault app, you will be automatically guided through the process of declaring yourself a key manager.
We recommend that you do this as soon as possible.
You will receive a confirmation email afterwards.
Can I share my digital key with other people?

Can I use the digital key if my phone runs out of battery?
No, it is not possible to use the digital key via a switched-off smartphone. If the battery gets too low during a journey, an alert appears on your dashboard. If your smartphone is switched off when you arrive at your destination, you'll need to press and hold the start/stop button to stop the motor, but you won't be able to lock the vehicle with your phone.
